The Intrepid carries a wide variety of tackle on board. These are recommendations only. The Intrepid carries Avet Reels and Seeker Rods so our recommendations are these brands or equivalent gear in size, power and capacity. Let the office know in advance if you need to borrow any gear.

*Optional - There are several brands and models of great rods and reels to choose from. They all work great. This list is a basic guideline for what to bring aboard Intrepid. To forgo the expensive cost of outfitting for a trip, we have Seeker Rods and Avet reels for you to use as loaners. You pay a line fee for each line fill up similar to tackle shop rates. Please contact our Intrepid Office if you need to borrow any loaner gear.

An assortment of surface and yo-yo jigs. We don't think color matters. Ask the crew what is working, they know best.

Trolling Lure for wahoo: Nomad 200 and 220LR DTX Minnow is by far the best

A hook sharpener to assure your wahoo jigs and bomb hooks are lazer sharp

Line:

Fluorocarbon Line can be critical to success. Please have every test between 25 to 130lbs. We think Seaguar Gold from 25 to 80lb and Premier above 80lb is the best.

Weights:

Sliders. 1, 2, 3 Oz

Torpedo. 4, 6, 8, 12, 16 Oz plus Heavy duty rubber bands

Wahoo wire and accessories:*

Wire: 40lb, 60lb, 90lb, 250lb . We think the Knot-2-Kinky wire is the best.
